D.R.Y.M.S.

Debbie Rule Youth Music Scholarship

D.R.Y.M.S. was established in 2021 by The Blues Society of the Ozarks, to honor Debbie Rule’s love for the Blues and music in general. The scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to aspiring young musicians whose limited financial resources might prohibit them from pursuing music learning opportunities.

D.RY.M.S. will award up to $500 per year to accepted applicants from Springfield, MO., and the surrounding area.

The scholarship is available to those under the age of 21, allows them to study their instrument of choice through lessons at reputable music camps, seminars, workshop programs or individual lessons with music instructors.

To apply, a letter of recommendation is submitted with the application. If the application is approved, the awarded youth is encouraged to write an article for the Blues Society of the Ozarks Bluesletter describing their experience following the completion of the program. They, in turn, will receive a free membership to Blues Society of the Ozarks for one year.

All decisions regarding the awarding of scholarships are the sole discretion of the Blues Society of the Ozarks D.R.Y.M.S. Committee.

Payment of scholarship awards are made by the D.R.Y.M.S. committee directly to the person or organization providing the musical learning experience.
