BLUES SOCIETY PRESIDENTS LETTER #7-2020
July 5, 2020
Hello Blues fans!! It feels like summer is in full swing by now such as it is in these weird times. The 4th is just behind us and we hope you all got to have some kind of celebration. We bought some fireworks and had a couple of family members over. We had a safe and nice time doing that and cooking dogs of hot. We are now gearing up for our summer blues party, see below!
SUMMER SPECIAL EVENT
It’s time for our BSO mid-summer event for all you music fans. We committed to moving ahead with this activity since Springfield/Fair Grove aren’t hot spots for Covid and we can be outside where we have lots of room and can keep social distance as necessary. We will have sanitizer and masks available if you please. BSO wanted to have a couple of outside blues activities this summer since there was so little going on.
Come on out for our JULY Monthly Social– CHAMBERJAM 2020. SATURDAY JULY 11th – This is Chapter President Mary Certain and past president Joel Chamberlain’s annual outdoor summer music party turned Blues Society event that will be held at 3223 E. Farm Road 34, (Fair Grove address), that’s between Fair Grove and Springfield. We have detailed driving instructions on the Chamberjam 2020 (BSO Face book) event page, or call Joel or Mary for details. This summertime out-door event features headliner Uncle Buster Band with an open jam organized by band-leader George Hunt. Brother Ray Ross with Little Brothers Joel Chamberlain and Bill Drussa will do a few songs too. We have had a great turn out of talent the last few years, so we are hoping for other jammers to come out too.
There is lots of room to camp over-night. The new norm for this year will be – bring your own picnic to snack on before the music starts, or eat before you come out. We will provide sealed single serving packages of a variety of chips, so, BYOP (picnic) and BYOB. Some beer, wine coolers, ice, water, tea, and soda will be provided. There is no charge for this afternoon/evening potluck and music event and it’s open to invited friends and the whole of the Blues Society. The event starts at 3, Band starts at 5:30 until 7:00 with the jam to follow. There is lighted a pool too, so feel free to cool off as you will – bring your swim suit.
